North of Tiverton, lies Exmoor national park, there's so much to Exmoor: a friendly welcome, tranquil moorland, winding rivers, a breath taking coastline of secluded bays and spectacular cliffs. Exmoor is sprinkled with quaint villages, attractive towns and charming harbours.

Most of those who visit Exmoor do so because of its beautiful unspoilt countryside, it seems only sensible to try our best to keep it this way. There are a variety of activities that are available from these towns, spectacular coastal walks in and around Porlock, Lynton and Lynmouth and around the Valley of Rocks. Woodland walks from Dulverton, heritage and archaeological walks from Dunster.

Explore the national park by walking, cycling or even horseriding. Get involved in activities such as hang-gliding, sailing and water sports, fishing and shooting.

Sailing and board sailing on Wimbleball lake are controlled by the club there. Some winter canoeing takes place on the rivers Exe and Barle.

The fascinating and dramatic coastline of Exmoor National Park can be best observed by taking a boat trip. Trips operate regularly throughout the season from Ilfracombe and Lynmouth, some with the benefit of a commentary given by a National Park Ranger.

Although there are several possible sites for hang-gliding it is only permitted under the control of Somerset Condors Hang-gliding Club on Bossington and North Hill.

When visiting Exmoor, it is advised to use public transport, as to much car congestion is frowned upon, as to keep the natural and tranquil atmosphere of Exmoor.
