INTRODUCTION

Tiverton Museum was founded in 1960. It is an independent museum administered by the Tiverton and Mid Devon Museum Trust. It is twinned with Chase Cory House, Tiverton, Rhode Island, USA.

There are 15 galleries and display areas on two floors. There is an extensive courtyard for farm machinery . The Authers gallery contains the "Tivvy Bumper" a GWR 0-4-2T steam locomotive and in the Alford gallery is a fine collection of Devon farm waggons and carts.
